Lake Cavanaugh Trip July 2007

We had a wonderful time at the lake this year! We met up with John and Sue on Thursday and were able to spend the evening and part of Friday with them before the rest of the troops arrived. Megan enjoyed fishing with Grandpa and Daddy, despite the rather poor weather conditions. Wonderful how kids never seem to be effected by the weather. On Friday afternoon Eric, Candice, Brandon and Riley arrived and they wasted no time getting out on the water for some fishing and beachside fun! The kids all got along wonderfully all weekend, which was a huge plus for the "grown-up" kids! Bryan Storm joined up on Friday night and after the kids went to bed we had a great time playing board games and getting caught up on things. The weather was horrible Friday night and into Saturday morning, but each day it cleared up for the mid afternoon. The kids enjoyed a mixture of fishing, playing in the water, bouncing in the Bounce House provided by the Storms and an occasional nap. The big kids enjoyed the same with some extra boating fun mixed in there. Uncle David showed up on Saturday afternoon which was a wonderful surprise for us all. Megan had a great time playing with him. Sunday Candice and I headed into Mount Vernon to get things for Dinner and Breakfast since we had a cancellation from KEVIN! We were disappointed that he did not make it up this year. The kids spent the entire morning on the boat fishing with their Dads and Uncles. They caught a TON of fish and were all very proud. We wrapped things up Monday morning and headed home, everyone tired from the long fun weekend at Lake Cavanaugh! Hopefully next year our temperatures will get over 60!

Megan enjoys some quality time fishing with Dad and Grandpa.

Trying out the jet ski with Dad, fun at first, but not so sure afterward.

The new water toy, what a treat for the big kids!

Megan's mom wasn't planning on her going swimming, but Megan had her own agenda! She had fun in the water with her friends and Daddy!

Playing in the "Bounce House" was fun for everyone!

The big kids out on the boat.

"Are you kidding me, I tried that once." Maybe next year.

Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles...

Out for our evening fishing adventure, the kids really enjoyed this. Thankfully the Storm family brought along the covered, heated boat. Who wouldn't like this kind of fishing?

Back on the beach.

Back in the house.

And one last fishing adventure, perhaps a little too long, wore the poor kids out!
