We went to Aunt Gina’s today for brunch. Poor Mom was running around all over the place. She had to run in to work to get some strains out of the deep freezer and then when she got back she realized she forgot my bottle. She then ran to the store to get me a new one because I was getting really hungry. She decided to just leave the bottle at Aunt Gina’s so we have one in town for that sort of situation.
After brunch we went to Stephen and Margie’s so that we could help them move their bed to their new house. When we were done we decided to come home so that we could get a few things done around here. Dad worked down stairs and Mom did some of the chores upstairs. I napped.
Saturday June 25, 2005
We went to the farmer’s market this morning. Mom wanted to take Tater out and socialize her and Dad thought it would be fun if we all went together. We did have a great time and everyone wanted to pet Tater and look at me. Tater and I are certainly people magnets!
We stopped in to see Daddy’s good friend Laura Elizabeth today. She was very excited! She just became a great grandma and is having trouble because her new great granddaughter’s name is Mecon and she also used to saying my name. Mom can’t really tell the difference when she is talking! I really like Laura Elizabeth and hope that we will stop in to see her again very soon.
After the market we went home and while I napped, Mom and Dad got Josey’s fence up in the pasture. And then they had to get ready so we could all go over to Paul and Paula’s for Shasta’s birthday. We had a fun time at Paula’s and there were many comments about what a good baby I am. This is very normal these days!
I am still trying to get some teeth and I get really cranky at night, but mom puts some stuff on my gums that makes them numb and I feel much better. I have stopped trying to such on my whole fist and I am having trouble getting my thumb and finger in my mouth like I did when I was little. I am now just trying to suck on my thumb. Mom hates that, and tries to encourage me to suck on my pacifier.

Mom, Dad, and I all got settled back in to our old routine today. It is nice to have things back to normal. I sure know that mom appreciates Dad’s help with all of our animals. Dad had to work late, so Mom picked me up from Vicki’s. I thought I was going to get to spend some quality time with him tonight, but he was so tired from his trip that he just slept and slept and slept all evening. Mom and I played a lot. I practiced rolling over, smiling and talking. I love to listen to myself babble. Mom and I had a lot of fun.
Thursday June 23, 2005
Yeah! Dad is home! I was so excited when Dad came to Vicki’s to pick me up today. He did not think I had grown as much as Mom said, but she does tend to exaggerate! He did like it that I am laughing more and how much I LOVE my jumperoo. We played together a lot otonight and then I had to go to bed. It is so nice to know he will not be leaving again for along time.
Wednesday June 22, 2005
My new cousin, Bode Cavanaugh, was born today! Dad got to be there right after he was delivered.
It is very exciting. Bode is the first boy in a family full of girls! I think he will really like it when all of his big sisters and cousins bring their friends around!
Dad decided to wait to drive home tomorrow. I am really anxious to see him, and Mom thinks that he will be really surprised how much I have changed in just one week.
Tuesday June 21, 2005
We had some excitement at the house this morning. Mom had opened the umbrella for our patio furniture so that the dogs would have some shade from the hot sun. It was not windy out when she did that this morning, but she heard a loud noise on the deck a while later and thought the dogs had knocked over a chair. Well the wind had picked up the umbrella and the table and the table was upside down on the railing of the deck. It was really unbelievable. I slept through the whole thing!
Dad got back to Seattle tonight really late. We are very excited for him to come home, but mom told him to stay in Seattle for another night so that he could go down to Olympia for the birth of my cousin. Auntie is being induced tomorrow morning so she should have the baby sometime in the afternoon or evening.
Monday June 20, 2005
Mom decided to stay home with me today. I had a really terrible night and I had a fever this morning, probably from the teething. Today also is Vicki’s birthday so Mom didn’t want her to have to deal with me being a fussy baby! I took a very long morning nap, probably recovering from my rough night. Mom was busy getting some things done around here during my nap. I was pretty fussy in the afternoon and really resisted my afternoon nap. Mom finally saw me roll over today. First she found me rolled over in my crib, on my stomach with my arm caught between the bars of my crib, and I WAS MAD. She found me rolled over when I was playing in my baby gym and then FINALLY she saw me roll over! She was really happy.
We also had some sad excitement this afternoon when Mom forgot to shut a gate and the dogs got out. Maizey and Cosby caught Stacey Chicken and hurt him really bad. Mom had to end his suffering which is never easy for her. I was a really good girl when all of this was going on and just sat happily and safely in my car seat inside.
Sunday June 19, 2005
Today is father’s day, but my father is away fishing! Mom did make sure that I sent him a gift in his bag and hopefully I will get to spend the day with him next year.
Mom, Gina and I got up early and went in to town for breakfast this morning. After breakfast Gina had to go do some work for Giamar (Mom says her boss is really strict). Mom and I ran some errands and then we went home. Mom wanted to get some things done outside while I napped, but I only took a short nap. She did get a few thgins done, but as usual never as much as she had planned.
Aunt Gina came back out to the house for dinner and a movie. I was really cranky because my new tooth is really hurting while it is trying to break through the skin. I finally went to bed, but I did not sleep well at all.
Dad called again tonight. He is catching a lot of fish and still having fun. He isn’t sleeping much, but he knew it would be that way. Dad really likes to be busy!
Saturday June 18, 2005
Mom worked really hard cleaning the house this morning and then we had to get ready to go to her friend’s wedding this afternoon. We went to the wedding with Aunt Gina and she held me the whole time. I was a very good girl and never made a sound. We went to the reception afterward and they had belly dancers. I enjoyed watching one of them, but the other one made me cry. The music was pretty loud so Mom and Gina decided we should go. We went home and Gina spent the night. It was fun having her at the house.
Mom talked to Dad tonight and he is have a really good time. He really misses me and asked about how I was doing. Mom is excited for me to be old enough to talk to him on the phone myself
Friday June 17, 2005
Mom saw my first tooth bud forming today. She is wondering if that might be the reason that I have been so cranky in the evenings. She got some numbing gel and Tylenol to try and help with the discomfort.
Vicki’s was closed this afternoon, so Mom dropped me off at Aunty Sundae’s house. I had a great time with her today. We went spent time together just the two of us, and then we went to her work so she could get some things done and show me off to her friends and family. I think it was mostly to show me off! She picked up her kids at 4 and then we all went back to her house. I really had fun playing with Morgan and I think she enjoyed being able to hold me. Mom came and got me at 5 and then we headed home to get the chores done.
Thursday June 16, 2005
Dad stayed home with me until about 9 o’clock this morning. It was really nice to spend the morning with him before he left for Alaska. He fed me my morning bottle and held me while mom got ready for work at home.
Vicki found a few bumps on my face and head today. She said she is pretty sure they are not chicken pox but mentioned it just in case. Mom and Vicki both think it is probably mOsquito or spider bites. Mom changed my bedding tonight just in case.
I have been struggling going to bed lately. I fight falling asleep and Mom is not sure why. She it trying to be “tough” by letting me cry and comforting me without picking me up. It is tough on everyone, but she doesn’t want to cave for fear that I will be reinforced to cy when I go to bed and don’t want to go to sleep. She knows I am fine, fed, clean diaper, and burped, but I just don’t want to go to sleep.
Wednesday June 15, 2005
Dad has been working hard trying to get ready for his trip. He leaves for Alaska tomorrow morning and will be gone for a full week. I think it will be good for him to go have fun with the boys for a week and he definitely deserves the vacation.
Mom has been really tired lately. I have been waking up during the night and waking her up. She was so tired that she fell asleep at her desk today. She has never done that before!
Neither Mom nor Dad have seen me roll over yet, but pretty much all the kids at Vicki’s have! A.J. fed me my bottle today. I really enjoy the big kids at Vicki’s. Hopefully I will continue to get along well with them once we are old enough to pick on each other!
Tuesday June 14, 2005
I think I was still recovering from the busy weekend today because I slept all afternoon at Vicki’s. Dad picked me up from Vicki’s this afternoon and we got to spend the evening together. Mom had to teach class and even though she only teaches from 8:00-8:45 this session, she still stays in town and spend the evening with Gina. Tonight they did some shopping and went out to dinner. Mom got home after I went to bed. I had a rough time falling asleep, but by the time mom was home I was out like a light!
Monday June 13, 2005
Mom and I are very happy to be home! It is sometimes nice to get back to the old routine to recover from a busy weekend! I had a great day at Vicki’s and my friend Katie told Mommy that she saw me roll over. Mom still has not seen me roll from my back to my tummy.
Sunday June 12, 2005
We showed very early today and had another good day at the show. Granny and Grandpa John met up with us at the grounds today and Granny held me a lot. She also changed my diaper and fed me my bottle before we got on the road to go home. I was really happy to head home after such a busy weekend. We traveled to Ellensburg with Gramma and Paula and then Gramma headed toward her home in Walla Walla. We got home around 3:30 and I was very happy to see my Daddy! I really missed him!
Saturday June 11, 2005
I slept in my portable crib last night and did very well, except that I woke up early in the morning and Mom thinks I was too interested in looking around the new room to fall back to sleep. It was okay though because Mom is very used to getting up early. We had to be at the dog show by 10. We met up with Gramma at the show and then she held me in the Snugli while Mom tended to the dogs. I got to meet Chris and Lisa (friends from Gramma’s old work). Mom was very happy because the dogs did very well at the show.
After we showed I went to Granny and Grandpa John’s with Auntie, Uncle Steve, Julia, Peyton and Ava. I had a very fun time playing with my Auntie and Cousins. I got to take a nap with Auntie, but she had to cut it short because being 8 months pregnant, she doesn’t quite have the bladder capacity that Mom does!
Mom was at a PRBC meeting and was busy playing with 5 of her Maizey x Bacchus puppies while I was with Auntie. She came to get me around 4 o’clock and I was very cranky. I am a girl who likes her nap! We went to go see Great Grandpa Paul, but I wasn’t very interested in letting him hold me. I just really was tired and wanted to be with Mom. We cut our visit short and went home to Mark and Lanelle’s. I went to bed early and slept REALLY well!
Friday June 10, 2005
We are off! We left this afternoon for a road trip. I am such a great little traveler. Mom and I met Dad in town while Mom got the oil changed in the van. Dad fed me my bottle and then we were on our way. We met up with Paula in Colfax and then traveled the rest of the way together. We stopped in Othello, but I was not interested in eating. However, as soon as we got back on the road I decided I was starving so Mom stopped in Vantage and fed me my bottle. Paula really liked that because she got to take the boys swimming in the Columbia River.
We got to Mark and Lanelle’s around 5:30 and Paula stayed for dinner. Mom and Paula let all the dogs out for a good run. Mark and Lanelle were very excited to see me and how much I have grown.
Thursday June 9, 2005
Mom was busy this evening getting everything packed for our trip. We are taking a “girl’s” weekend and going to stay with Uncle Mark and Aunt Lanelle in Buckley. There is a dog show in Puyallup so Mom is really excited to be taking Tater and Maizey to show them. This is Maizey’s first show since May of last year. I am spending as much time with Dad as I can because I will not get to see him very much.
Wednesday June 8, 2005
Mom has been noticing that my new favorite thing to do is to play with my pants. I reach down toward my feet and grab the bottom of my pants and then hike them way up. Mom is constantly pulling them down so my legs don’t get cold. Vicki thinks that I have found my feet and when I am reaching for them I find my pants and am satisfied with playing with that!
Tuesday June 7, 2005
Today was a big day for me! I turned 5 months old AND I rolled over from my back to my belly for the first time today. Vicki saw me do it while I was at her house this afternoon, and she quickly called to tell Mom. Mom and Dad are so proud of me, they keep saying that I am so “advanced.” They are so funny. I didn’t roll over for them this evening, but they certainly tried to encourage me to do so!
Monday June 6, 2005
Back to work we go! I had another great day. My prune juice is helping a lot and I am pooping once a day like a normal baby! I am growing like crazy. Mom weighed me this morning and I now weigh 12lbs 13oz! I will be 13 pounds in no time at all!
Sunday June 5, 2005
I was an early riser this morning! I got up at 5:30 so mom decided to go grocery shopping at 6:30. Funny, huh! After my morning nap mom and I went to Paul and Paula’s to pickle asparagus with Paul. It was fun, but a lot of work for Mom. I was a very good girl and hardly ever made a sound. I was happy playing on the floor or in my swing and even took my afternoon nap. Mom said that next time she does this she will be sure to wear shoes, her knees really hurt from standing on the hard floor without shoes to cushion her joints! We got home around 4 and Dad was waiting for us. It rained all day, which bummed Mom because she wanted to get the horse pasture hot wired. I guess it will have to wait for next weekend!
Saturday June 4, 2005
Well Dad left at 4:30 This morning! Yes, that is really early! Mom got a lot done today, but not as much as she had hoped. During my morning nap she worked on filling the last bit of ditch from the spigots and then after I woke up she put in bouncer in the dog shower so she could scrub the dog room. It took her about an hour and a half, but it is sparkling clean. She had hoped to get down in the pasture during my afternoon nap, but I never really had one. We went to Paul and Paula’s for dinner tonight. It was Paula’s birthday yesterday so they had a bbq. We met some new people and got to see Don, Val, and Carolyn as well. It was really fun.
Friday June 3, 2005
Yes, it is finally Friday. Nice that it was a shorter week for Mom and Dad. Dad is headed down to Walla Walla for the weekend, but he decided to wait until tomorrow morning to leave. We had a nice relaxing evening at home as a family. I will miss Dad, again, but I understand that Gramma and Grandpa desperately need his expertise building their house. I am so proud of my Dad; he is so smart and so talented. Mom really hopes that I get a lot of his characteristics.
Thursday June 2, 2005
Well Mom and Dad gave me my first prune juice supplement today. I get to have one ounce of four fold diluted prune juice twice a day. They tried giving it to me strait, but I didn’t like it. I drank a little bit and then made funny faces and stuck out my tongue. After that, mom put it in with my formula and I have been doing great with that. Hopefully I will have better poops soon. The doctor had told mom to give me Karo Syrup, but mom read that I can get botulism from that, so she decided to make her own decision on this topic. We all know my mom is a bit weird and reads way too much!
Wednesday June 1, 2005
Mom can not believe it is already June and that I am almost 5 months old! I am growing up so fast! I still am struggling with the whole pooping thing. I am able to go, but it is a lot of work and it is quite solid. Not normal for a baby my age. The doctor’s office was closed tonight when Mom decided to call the doctor, so she will call tomorrow and see if there is anything she can do to help the process along.
