The World According to Me

January February March April May June

Monday February 28, 2005

Today was just another day at home with Mom while she worked. It was nice to have a quiet day at home. Mom and Dad watched a movie this evening and we just took a break from all the hustle and bustle around the house! It was a nice day!

Sunday February 27, 2005

We went on an outing today with Mom, Dad, Gramma and Grandpa. We took Josey over to Paula and Paul’s house. It was Josey’s first ride in our new trailer and she had quite the trip. I could feel her bucking and hear her whinnying in the trailer while we drove down the road! Mom and Paula went up to the “soon to be” arena and worked Josey while I sat with Gramma, Grandpa, Dad, Paul and Shasta by the campfire down next to the pond. After Mom and Paula were done we had a hot dog roast. It was such a beautiful day. Dad even napped on the grass by the pond. We had a great time! Josey did much better on her ride home. We got home mid day and Mom left me with Dad while she ran some errands in town. She said she is much faster if I stay home with Dad! I am sleeping better at night, but sometimes I don’t want to go back to sleep after I wake up. We are working on that!!!

Saturday February 26, 2005

My Gramma and Grandpa came up from Walla Walla to see me today. We met up with them at my Uncle David’s house and then went to the One World Café that dad worked on for their opening. I had a great time and got to see a lot of people from Mom’s work. We then went to lunch at Old Peking. Gramma held me the entire time!!! Gramma and Grandpa stayed over night. Granpa worked on hooking up more lights in the basement and Dad finshed up mudding the dog room. It is looking really good and Mom is very anxious to get in there and start painting!

Friday February 25, 2005

Well Mom finally got her seatbelts installed in her van. She is really excited about that. We had to drop off the van early this morning so Mom, Dad, and I went to visit Auntie Gina at Mom’s work. We took her a small present to say thanks for watching me. Mom had to pick up and drop off some paper work and then we went to the store to look at tile for our family room. After that we ended up going to Quick Care because one of my eyes has been weeping a lot and mom was worried I had conjunctivitis. It turned out to be just a small cold or maybe an irritated tear duct. I have been a little fussy the past couple of days, so maybe I am coming down with something. Mom has a very close eye on me—not much gets past that lady!

Thursday February 24, 2005

Today was just another day watching mom working hard at her computer. Dad was around quite a bit today so that was fun. Mom gave me a bath today. I weight 9lbs 6.0oz. I haven’t been growing quite as much this week as I did last week.

Wednesday February 23, 2005

Well the big news for today is that Dad is finally done with the job he has been working on. He actually stayed home for a long time today. I really enjoyed spending time with him. Mom and Tater went to dog class tonight so I got to have more quality time with Dad.

Tuesday February 22, 2005

Today was mom’s first day back at work part time. She is working from home on the computer. I was a very good girl today and just slept in my swing next to her while she worked. I think mom has mixed emotions about being back to work. I know she wishes she could spend every waking moment with me, but that it would also probably drive her crazy. This is a good happy medium for now!

Dad had to work late again….really late. Mom also had to teach obedience so I ended up spending the evening at Auntie Gina’s. Mom and Dad are so lucky to have Gina. I loved spending the evening with her and can’t wait until I am old enough to go to her house to play with her. For now I will just enjoy visiting her and listening to her sing to me. Mom and Dad feel very comfortable leaving me with her which is good!

Monday February 21, 2005

Mom and Mark left early this morning to take Mom’s van in to have seatbelts put in the back seat. There is one belt in there already (for me), but Mom wants more so that we can haul 5 people with all the dogs! My mom just loves that van! I stayed home with Lanelle while they ran into town. We met dad for lunch and then Mark and Lanelle had to leave. I was very sad to see them go, but I know I will get to see them again soon. Mom and I then headed to her doctor’s appointment and then home. Unfortunately they couldn’t install the seat belts my mom had in her van, so she order some new ones that should be installed later this week.

Sunday February 20, 2005

Today Mark, Lanelle, Dad, Mom and I went over to visit Paul, Paula, Shasta, Diego, Spud, Margo and Leggo today. We had a great time visiting. Mom left me inside with Paul while everyone went for a tour of their beautiful 35+ acres. I was jealous because they got to go see the horses, but I will get to see them soon enough. It was good to see Maizey’s pups, they are doing well. I am glad they are at Paula’s so Mom is a little less stressed!

We went out to dinner at Pete’s Bar and Grill in Pullman. For the first time I was not willing to just sleep through dinner. I decided that first I wanted to fill my pants to see how Mom would manage changing me in a bathroom without a changing station. It probably would have been easier for most people, but my mom is a germ freak, so she had to disinfect everything, and is WAY overboard!!! At dinner I just insisted on being held by someone. Mom and dad took turns holding me and eating, that was nice!

Saturday February 19, 2005

Today I spent the day bonding with Mark and Lanelle. It was amazing how fast we lost track of the day just visiting in the living room. We went into town to run some errands, stop at Dad’s job, and get some lunch, oh and some beer at the “beer store.” We had my uncle David and Kayce over for dinner. Dad and Mark made chicken in dad’s new turkey fryer. It turned out pretty good, at least so they say!

Friday February 18, 2005

Mom and I spent the day cleaning the house in anticipation of Lanelle and Mark’s visit. Mom also gave me a bath so I would be nice and clean for them (I weigh 9lbs 4.0oz) I am so happy to finally meet my God parents. I think my mom and dad choose some really great people as my guardians, especially since they have more dogs than I do! They must be good people! Mark and Lanelle got here pretty late, but I was awake, I am always awake.

Thursday February 17, 2005

Today Mom and I painted the front door and kennel room door. Mom gets really tired of the dogs scratching on the door, so she put the puppy ex-pen in front of the door to keep them away from it while the paint cures. Mom says the dogs are a lot more work than I am and they are much more destructive. We shall see, when I start to toddle around, I may give them a run for their money!

Wednesday February 16, 2005

I started smiling a bit more today. My smiles seem to be getting more voluntary. Mom and Dad are really anxious for me to start smiling and interacting more with them. Mom was going to take Tater to obedience class, but Dad had to work late. Mom and I worked around the house today doing some chores outside. It has been really nice lately so I can be in the snuglie and go outside. Today we raked up all the loose hay and put it in the chicken coop. That was a big job! Mom is so pleased that I like to be outside and in the snuglie. I even go to go meet Josey, she is really big but smells really good. I can’t wait until I am old enough to ride her!!!

Tuesday February 15, 2005

Today was my mom’s first day back teaching dog obedience classes. She was disappointed because she wanted to stay home and watch Westminster with me. Dad and I stayed home and watched the dog show together, and had a great time. Mom does really well leaving me for short periods of time, but I know she really misses me when she is gone. It is good for her to get out and spend time with other people and their dogs. Also, Spud went home today so mom and I were busy downstairs getting the dog room cleaned up. I am excited to have Tater upstairs with the rest of the family! The only “bummer” is that Maizey is now in season so she doesn’t get to be with us as much. I miss seeing her.

Monday February 14, 2005

Happy Valentines Day! Not a very eventful holiday for me at this point in my life, but mom was sure to give me extra hugs and kisses! Mom continued to work on the web site today and hopes to get the updates posted soon. She also was busy making a nice dinner and dessert for dad. He had to work late again, but came home briefly to eat. I sure will be happy when he is done with his current job as he has been working late a lot. I miss spending time with him in the evenings.

Sunday February 13, 2005

We met everyone in town for breakfast again, and then I had to say good bye. I was very sad to see my cousins go, I had a great time with them this weekend. I wish that we lived closer, but I know how much Mom and Dad love Idaho and know they will never leave. I spent the afternoon sitting next to mom while she worked on my web site. I am really happy sitting in my boppy on the couch. Mom likes it because I am right next to her. I have been having a hard time sleeping lately. I guess my five hour sleeping streak has ended!

Saturday February 12, 2005

Everyone came out to our place for breakfast. Dad made his famous buttermilk pancakes. We spent most of the day out at the house, but went into town so that they could all go swimming. I was a bit cranky today so Mom didn’t go swimming. After swimming, Mom left me with Auntie so she could go home and feed my dogs. I did really good for Auntie, but was crying when mom got back! I missed her! Actually, I think I was just hungry! Dad and Steve went to the turkey banquet with Donny and Paul while Mom and I went to dinner with Auntie and the girls. We called it an early night…at least mom and I did…dad didn’t get home until 2AM! Way past his curfew!

Friday February 11, 2005

Mom, Dad and I went into town this morning to have breakfast with Auntie, Uncle Steve,Julia, Peyton and Ava. Of course everyone was excited to see me and they all think I am very cute! Mom and Dad say that pretty much “all babies are cute.” They are just trying to be “objective. After breakfast we came back to the house so that the girls could play with all of my animals. They got to pet my horse, Josey and my chickens. I can’t wait until I am old enough to ride my horse! We went to dinner tonight to celebrate Auntie’s birthday and we met up with Donny Bartell and Joy. Auntie was very surprised that I slept the entire time. Mom told her that I am always like that in resteraunts!

Thursday February 10, 2005

Mom and I spent the morning at home today and then went into town to do some shopping this afternoon. We went shopping for valentine’s and birthday gifts. Mom finds it hard not to buy things for me when she is out shopping. Of course, I don’t mind! I am very excited because my Auntie, Uncle Steve and cousins are arriving tonight. I won’t get to see them until tomorrow, but it is still very exciting!

Wednesday February 9, 2005

Today was another day spent at home so that mom could get some chores done. She has noticed that having me around slows the whole process. Mom gave me a bath today and weighed me. I am not 8lbs 13ounces! I am growing like a weed. I am sleeping better these days, I slept for 5 hours strait last night and hope to do so again tonight!

Tuesday February 8, 2005

Mom and I stayed home today so that Mom could get a few things done around the house. Then this evening Mom and I met up with Dad at the Kiblen’s house. We had a great time. I was awake the whole time watching the Toddlers play. Mom got to see Baker and Watson, so she was thrilled. She always loves to visit her puppies and of course Cosby’s brother. I was worn out by the time we left, but was determined to keep my eyes open. I slept great last night because of all the excitement. I slept from 10:30 to 3:30, that has to be some kind of record for me!!!

Monday February 7, 2005

Today Mom, Dad and I went to meet Vicki, my new day care provider. Mom and Dad really like her and are thrilled that she will have room for me. I am pretty indifferent at this point, but that is probably because I slept through the entire meeting! The place is really close to Mom’s work and the plan is that I will be there from noon to five weekdays. Mom still has to check this out with her employer…hopefully it will be okay with her.

Sunday February 6, 2005

We didn’t do much today. Mom worked on picking up around the house, and then we went over to Paula’s so that that Mom could work Maizey and Cosby on Trailing. Dad and I went with her, but we just hung out inside and watched the superbowl pregame show.

Dad and I watched our first superbowl together. Mom was busy doing the things that Mom’s do!

Saturday February 5, 2005

Today Mom, Dad, and I went into to town and met with Uncle David, Grandma and Grandpa for lunch. We had a nice time, and I know my Grandparents were so happy to see me! It had been a long time since I had seen them. I know my parents were happy to catch up with Grandma and Grandpa, I think it was a very nice visit for everyone. It sure is nice that they are all close enough that we can meet for lunch on the occasion that I haven’t seen them for a while. I miss seeing them!

Friday February 4, 2005

We got up early this morning and took Navy to the airport. It is so hard for Mom to let the pups go, I am glad I was here to comfort her. After we dropped Navy off at the airport we went and saw my Great Grandma Evelyn and Great Grandpa Paul. I was awake for most of my visit with Great Grandma, but could not seem to keep my eyes open with Great Grandpa. I thought it was really neat that Grandpa Paul called me Little Mickey. My middle name is Ilene after my late Great Grandma Mickey, whose real first name was Ilene. My mom also thinks it is a very special nick name for me. We headed back to Seattle in the afternoon because I missed my Dad so much. Mom was so tired, but she made it through the whole drive. It was very good to see Dad when we got home.

Thursday February 3, 2005

Well Mom had a nice day planned of leisurely packing for our trip to Seattle this weekend, however it ended up that Navy could not get a flight on the weekend and had to leave on Friday. So once all the arrangements were made, Mom and I left for our first road trip to Seattle. I did great…as usual! I slept most of the way, but even when I was awake I was happy to just look around the car. We stopped in Othello and Ellensburg so that I could eat. We got to Granny and Grandpa’s house around nine and I got to spend some time with them before I went to bed.

Wednesday February 2, 2005

Today Mom and I went into town to meet Dad, Aunt Gina, Val, and Carolyn for lunch. I was really tired and slept the whole time. Then right when mom was finishing up, I decided to get a bit fussy. I was starving. Mom never liked listening to other people’s kids cry in public, so she was quick to pack me up and head out of the resteraunt. After I had MY lunch we went to see Sundae. I had a fun time while she held me, I even smiled for her…not really intentionally, but it was still cute!

Dad and I were home alone for the first time today! Mom decided to take Tater to dog class and I stayed at home with dad. We had a great time, and I was very good for dad. I enjoyed having Dad’s full attention while Mom was gone. I am kinda looking forward to Mom’s return to teaching obedience in a few weeks so that I get more time alone with my daddy!

Tuesday February 1, 2005

Mom had planned on staying home all day today to get a few things done, but ended up having to go in to the post office. So we took, yet another trip into town. I guess it is a good thing that I like riding in the car! Dad got the back seat installed in our van so that we can now travel as a family, including all of the dogs!
