Today was another busy day. I stayed home with Grandma in the morning while Mom took Josey for her first trail ride. I was very happy to see Mom return in one piece!
Then Aunt Gina, Aunt Jodie, Uncle David, and Kayce joined us for a barbeque dinner. Aunt Gina made the cake and it was good…or so I hear. It was really great to meet Aunt Jodie for the first time! She is not a real “baby” person (or so she says), but she was awesome! By the end of the day she was even changing my diaper!
Friday April 29, 2005
Today is Mommy’s birthday, so she took the day off to spend it with me and with her friends and family. She got to hear my cousins sing her happy birthday on the phone and also Shasta. That was fun! She also got to have a nice long chat with Auntie and managed to avoid any and all “housework” that was planned.
Aunt Gina took us to lunch, which was fun. Mom always has a nice time with Gina and I really love her too! Grandma met up with us after lunch so we could run some errands and then we went home. Grandma helped mom get the house cleaned and then we all went to dinner at Pete’s. (Me, Mom, Dad, Grandpa, and Grandpa) It took a long time to get our food so I got cranky! It all worked out in the end.
Mom can not believe how much I am cooing these days. I was not talking much and Dad had just said, “Megan sure isn’t cooing like she was.” Well I showed them! Now I have moments where I coo and coo for a LONG time.
Thursday April 28, 2005
Mom was busy getting ready for Grandpa and Grandma to come over for the weekend. She has a hard time getting everything done in one day so she spreads it out over many! For some reason everything takes her much longer to accomplish these days, I just can imagine why!
Wednesday April 27, 2005
Just another day! Mom noticed that I am gripping things more and that I like to pull my pacifier out of my own mouth. This can definitely present a problem so she has figured out that if she gives me some toys to hold on to, that I tend to keep myself busy!
Tuesday April 26, 2005
Mom has been working hard to slightly adjust my morning schedule to make the afternoons easier for both me and Vicki. She tries to get me to nap earlier so I am awake longer before we leave. That way I will be ready for my nap around 1 like the other kids. It seemed to help today, but everyday is a challenge!
Dad picked me up tonight because mom has to teach. We had a great evening together. I had a couple of bottles and was just content. Mom put me to bed when she got home. She was glad that Dad had not already put me to bed because she really likes to do that!
Monday April 25, 2005
Back to work we go! I headed back to Vicki’s today, but mom got to pick me up a little bit early because Vicki’s son, Noah, has soccer practice. I had anice big poop for Vicki today and then I peed on her! It was a great day!
Sunday April 24, 2005
Granny and Grandpa left this morning. Mom and I loaded up Tater and Cosby and headed off to the dog show in Lewiston. We met up with Grandma and she helped mom at the show. There is NO WAY that mom could have handled me, Tater and Cos all by herself. As it was she was quite stressed. Paula, Shasta and Spud were also at the show. Cosby and Tater both won their classes and both got another point.
After the show we went to lunch. Grandma fed me my bottle while mom ate her lunch. We headed home, picked up dad, dropped off the dogs, and headed back into Moscow to see Mom and Dad’s friends Brian and Wendy with their new baby girl Kennedy. She is very cute and very small! I was a little bit afraid of Brian when he tried to hold me. Not sure what it was, but hopefully I will get over that next time I see him!
Saturday April 23, 2005
I spent the day with Granny while mom got some things done around the house. She rode Josey and also gave Cosby and Tater baths for the dog show tomorrow. We also went to Applebees for dinner. I did
really well accept that we had to wait for 30 minutes to be seated so I got hungry toward the end of dinner. Dad fed me a bottle, which I ate very fast, and then I was happy!
Oh, and I finally pooped this evening. Sheez, mom was getting worried! She even called the nurse’s station at the hospital to see if this was normal (Guess she didn’t believe the nurse at the doctor’s office!).
Friday April 22, 2005
I stayed home with Granny today instead of going to Vicki’s. I had a good day, but mom is worried because I have not pooped since Thursday afternoon. Normally I go at least six times a day, so this is very strange. She called my doctor and the nurse told her it is pretty normal and I could even go for 5-6 days without a bowel movement. Can you even believe that???
Thursday April 21, 2005
Granny and Grandpa arrived today. Dad picked me up from Vicki’s early. Dad decided to fry his turkey for dinner. Mom said it turned out well, but it took a long time to cook and we kept running out of things we needed! Like Propane!!! Oh well, it all worked out in the end.
Wednesday April 20, 2005
Granny and Grandpa are coming tomorrow, so mom has been busy getting the house cleaned up for them.
I am getting stronger and stronger every day. I am almost rolling over. I really don’t like to be on my tummy, but mom still makes me have tummy time. Probably not as much as she should, though.
Tuesday April 19, 2005
Tuesdays are my nights with Dad. He picks me up from Vicki’s so Mom can stay in town and teach. We had a fun time tonight, except that Dad could not find one of my socks. Mom got home at about 9:30 and then systematically went through the dogs making them throw up until she found the sock. She was worried that someone would end up with a blockage if they ate it. She started with Tater and then Maizey. Maizey was the one who ate the sock! Lucky for Cosby and Trigger, but poor Tater!
Monday April 18, 2005
Nothing really special today, we are back to our normal routine. Diego came over tonight and is going to stay with us all week because Paula is going out of town. Paul has enough to deal with, having all the other dogs, horses, and Shasta.
I am smiling more and more all the time. I have pretty much stopped cooing, and mom wonders why. They talk to me a lot and read me many books, but I just like to look and smile quietly.
Sunday April 17, 2005
Dad had to work today. I hate it when he works on the weekends. He stayed at home for a while in the morning so he could spend time with me, but then left for the whole afternoon. Diego ended up having to have surgery today. He had a blockage in his tummy. Mom and I went with Paula to pick him up tonight. We took Mom’s van so that Diego did not have to strain to get into the car. Dad met up with us at the vet and I rode home with him. I did not really want to ride all the way to Paula’s and then back home again. I am glad he picked me up!
I am now going to bed around 8:30 or so. I am beginning to wake up earlier though. I like to wake up at 6 now. Mom thinks it is good because she gets more done in the morning when I wake up early. I know, it doesn’t make sense, but that is just how it works!
Saturday April 16, 2005
Mom and I just spent the day at home today. She cleaned while I napped in my swing. Dad went hunting with Paul this morning. He did not get home until pretty late, but had a successful hunt, so mom forgave him! Anyway, it was still early enough that Mom got the dogs all washed. She got a call from Paula and Diego is very sick. They are both very worried, but Mom knows that Diego is in good hands. Paula will take very good care of him.
Friday April 15, 2005
I got to have a bath this morning. Mom is giving me baths every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning. I like my bath time, but also slip around in my tub a lot, so mom hurries me in and out. Maybe when I can sit up on my own, she will start letting me play in the water for a little while.
I slept well last night. From 9PM until 7AM. Mom is amazed at how long babies sleep. She is also amazed that I can go that long without eating! She is not complaining, though, she likes being able to sleep in and not get up during the night!
Thursday April 14, 2005
Today was just another normal day. I am getting very used to my new routine. I get up around 6 or 7, eat, then play for a while and nap from 9-10:30. At 10:30 I eat again and get ready to leave for Vicki’s. I am still a little mixed up on my schedule at Vicki’s, but I am trying to do better.
Wednesday April 13, 2005
I played a lot in my baby gym this morning. It is really fun and I love all of the songs that it plays. I had a much better day at Vicki’s today. Mom was really happy that I didn’t give Vicki too much trouble, but she is confident that Vicki can handle it when I am not on my best behavior.
Mom is trying to adjust my schedule a little bit and get me to go to bed earlier. I sleep for a long time at night, normally at least seven hours. I often do not get to sleep until after 10 and she would like to move that up a bit. We will see how that goes.
Tuesday April 12, 2005
Vicki’s son was feeling better today so I went in to day care after spending the morning at home with Mom. I had a tough day at Vicki’s today. I was very cranky and just wouldn’t settle down. Vicki finally got me settled and I took a long nap. Dad picked me up early and took me home. Mom had to teach obedience class tonight so she did not get home until after 9:00PM. I really missed Mom, this is the longest that we have ever been apart.
We got my baby gym in the mail today and Dad put it together for me. I love it. It plays music and has a lot of things for me to look at. Of course, I am on the floor when I play in it, but the dogs don’t bother me at all. They are really good about giving me my space when I am in my bouncer and my swing. Mom is really proud of how the dogs behave around me.
Mom weighed me today and I weigh 10lbs 13oz.
Monday April 11, 2005
Vicki called this morning and had to be closed today because her son was not well. Mom and Dad made a mad dash to figure out what to do with me! Mom had a very important experiment at work so she could not stay home with me. She took me to work with her at noon and I spent an hour with Aunt Gina in her office during her lunch time. Dad came to the office and got me at one and took me home. It all worked out! I gave Gina and Dad both a hard time this afternoon. I cried for a long time in Gina’s office and also when I got home. Dad got me fed and settled, but I never did take a good long nap. I went to bed at 9 tonight. I was really tired because I never got my afternoon nap.
Sunday April 10, 2005
Mom, Dad and I went down to Lewiston today to meet with Gramma and Grandpa for lunch. We had a really nice time and Gramma couldn’t believe how much I had grown! She got to feed me a bottle and then while she was burping me I filled my pants. Luckily there was a changing table in the bathroom because I had poo everywhere!!! Mom and Gramma had a pretty good laugh trying to get me cleaned up.
After lunch Mom, Dad, and I went to Costco, Home Depot and then to D&B to try and buy some ducks! Unfortunately they were all out of Ducks, but they had baby turkeys and I LOVED looking at them. They all ran over to the side of their cage to look at me and my eyes were very wide. They were so cute! I can’t wait until I am big enough to play with the little chicks and ducklings!
Mom weighed me today and I weigh 10lbs 9.0oz.
Saturday April 9, 2005
I slept for a very long time last night. I slept in until 7AM and finally Mom got me up to eat and face the day. She came in to gently wake me and I was all smiles! Apparently I am like my Dad and love to sleep. I also took a very long nap this morning while Mom and Dad did chores around the house.
I have a bit of a diaper rash right now, so Mom is working hard to get that under control. She called Gramma and she said to put me in a warm bath with a bit of white Vinegar. That really helped a lot. Mom also uses the cream to help control the rash. Hopefully it will get better soon.
We went to Uncle David’s for dinner tonight and Kayce made a really yummy dinner for Mom and Dad. I was a bit fussy, but I think it is the diaper rash, it really hurts. Kayce held me for a long time after dinner and I really liked that. I also got to meet her son Grayland and I really liked him. Whenever he zoomed past I was all smiles! We had a very nice visit with everyone.
Friday April 8, 2005
I am beginning to get into a routine with going to Day Care. I sleep until about 6 in the morning, then I eat and then go back to sleep for an hour or longer, then I eat again and mom and I get ready to go. That is, unless Dad is home and keeps me awake all morning.
Dad went and played Poker tonight with his friends, so Mom and I were home alone. We had a busy evening and Mom had her hands full with me and the dogs. I am getting very used to going to bed in my crib at night and fall asleep pretty quickly. Mom is trying to get me to go to bed earlier each night, but it was still 9PM before she got me to bed.
Thursday April 7, 2005
Dad stayed home with me again this morning. Mom likes having the time to get a lot of work done, and also enjoys having him at home. I am smiling and talking more and more everyday. Mom has noticed recently that I am more interested in my hands. I like to hold them up and look at them. I also like to put them in my mouth. I also am gripping a lot more. I love to hold Mom and Dad’s hands.
Both Mom and Dad were home tonight and Mom let Dad put me to bed in my crib. I slept so good! I slept from 10 until 5 without waking up!
Wednesday April 6, 2005
Dad stayed home with me this morning and played with me while mom worked. I always like having special time with Dad, he is very silly. Mom dropped me off at day care today and since she thought
she understood my schedule: Play, Eat, Nap, Eat, Go Home, she sent two bottles with me. I fooled her! Today I went to day care and Played, Napped, then Ate only one bottle! Tee hee hee! Just when she thinks she has me figured out, I throw her a curve ball!
Dad had to work really late tonight, so Mom took the opportunity to move me into my crib. It took me a while to fall asleep, but I love my dream soother that Eric and Candice got for me. It has a little screen with pictures and it plays music and tells stories. It took me about 30 minutes to fall asleep. I only got up once during the night, at my normal 4AM feeding. Mom got up and fed me in the same rocker that my grandma used to feed her. I then went back to sleep until 6.
Tuesday April 5, 2005
Mom is beginning to think that it might be a good idea to have me start sleeping in my crib. I am growing and growing and now when I stretch I hit the sides of my bassinet and wake myself up. She is considering moving me into my crib tomorrow night.
I had a good day at day care today. Mom thinks she is getting used to my new schedule and thinks she should have two bottles ready for me to have everyday. I had another long afternoon nap today after I got to have some special one on one time with Vicki. Mom is busy getting back into the swing of things at work. She is actually happy to be back and her days go by quickly because she is very busy.
Monday April 4, 2005
Well today was the big day; my first day of Day Care at Vicki’s. Mom went a little bit early to make sure I was settled in before she left. Mom called Vicki and e-mailed her during the day to check on me. Vicki is really good about getting back to her on e-mail and always answers the phone when she calls. Vicki said I was a bit fussy at first, but then I settled in, had my bottle and then slept most of the rest of the afternoon. It is very normal for me to take long afternoon naps. Mom picked me up at five and then we headed home. Mom was struggling with the fact that she now doesn’t get home until almost 6 at night and then has to feed dogs, feed me, and think about dinner. Dad is really good about helping, but it is still a lot to think about.
She was not done with the dogs and feeding me until almost 7:30 and then she and dad had to think about dinner. It is going to take some time to adjust to this new schedule.
Dad took me for a walk in the woods this evening. Mom had me all bundled up and I had a good time except when Dad had to climb under fences, I don't like that part.
Sunday April 3, 2005
Dad had to work today at the Ford Dealership and Mom was busy getting everything ready to go back to work tomorrow. She is not nervous about leaving me with Vicki at all. She and Dad got to meet Vicki before and since Mom’s friend Sundae knows her really well and recommends her, she is very comfortable with the situation. I had a bath today, and Mom weighed me. I weigh 10lbs 6.0oz.
Saturday April 2, 2005
Mom and I spent the day around the house today. Dad had to go to baseball try-outs for 8-9-10 year olds, and he was gone most of the day. Mom has been busy getting things moved into the dog room, since Dad has finished it. She loves her room and always feeds the dogs down there. The basement is getting closer and closer to being done everyday.
Mom, Dad, and I went in to town tonight and met up with David and Kayce for dinner and to stop by the One World Café to listen to a band play. I was a bit cranky at dinner, more than I have ever been. I guess I can’t be perfect all the time! I am also “talking” a lot more lately. Dad loves to sit and talk with me, especially since I am now “talking back.” I love to coo and sometimes even laugh when I smile.
Friday April 1, 2005
Today is Mom’s last day of maternity leave. I am going to miss being with her all day, but I think her working at home part time and in the lab part time will be good for both of us. I am excited about going to day care with Vicki on Monday. I will be there everyday from noon to five, unless Dad picks me up early.
Mom and I also went to a baby shower today for Mom’s friend Ashley. The party was at Aunt Gina’s house and we had a great time. I slept most of the time in Mom’s arms, which was a treat for me.
